We’re really happy with the very kind words from one of our recent customers:

“Just a huge THANK YOU to Martin and Ethan for a very professional an
d utterly successful event in Llansannor for my daughter’s birthday this evening. We are getting so many rave reviews from those who attended about what a brilliant event Diamond Dust created that I had to take the time to post our gratitude and to unhesitatingly recommend them to anyone thinking of booking them up. Fabulous!” David Tee, Vale of Glamorgan.

Cardiff DJ’s and Swansea Mobile Discos – Achieved Diamond DJmark

Written by   in

Diamond Dust, who are a team of Party and Wedding DJs who work in Swansea and Cardiff, will have achieved the Diamond DJmark Award on Need a Disco. This is the highest level award, which means we have reached or surpassed the following criteria:

Buy with Confidence is a scheme operated by local and regional Trading Standards organisations with a strict set of entry requirements, usually including a DBS check on the company owner. Where a scheme is not in operation, members must instead meet all the other requirements of this award level. The scheme is not running for DJ’s in Cardiff and mobile discos in Swansea

Visibly Open – There is the question of how many mobile DJs hide behind a mobile telephone number and a Hotmail address. All DJmark Gold Award holders have supplied a full verified postal address, a telephone landline, and domain name email address.  So in the unlikely event of a problem, we know exactly where you can find them, particularly if someone is planning to book a wedding DJ in Swansea, Cardiff or anywhere else.

Public Liability Insurance (PLI) – Management regularly insist on a PLI before granting access to their venues including Cardiff and Swansea, and this is often because the venue’s own insurers wishing to offset risk.

Electrical Safety Tests (PAT) is an annual testing which inspects and tests portable electrical appliances to ensure they are safe to use in a public setting including a children’s party DJ in Cardiff or Swansea

Written Contracts Issued – with terms and conditions governing the agreement which you have made with them in respect of services to be provided, giving reassurance for anyone booking, for example, a party or wedding DJ in Swansea, Cardiff or Carmarthen.

Enhanced Positive Feedback – Award holders have received genuine positive feedback from previous customers for work which they sourced.

Health & Safety Standards are maintained means of a Method Statement which describes the procedures and processes for temporarily installing, operating and removing mobile disco equipment in venues throughout Swansea and Cardiff.

Meetings Offered as many people hiring a DJ for an important occasion such as a wedding in Swansea and Cardiff would appreciate a face-to-face meeting before the event, to meet the DJ and discuss their musical preferences and priorities for the party.

Complaints Procedure shows that the company has considered how to handle any complaints which, no matter how unlikely, may arise. A procedure demonstrates that any complaint will be dealt with in a structured and fair manner with third party mediation.

Legal Music Sourcing/Dubbing (ProDub) is a licence issued in the UK by PRS for Music, which governs the copying of music from any format to a digital format.

Membership Longevity All Diamond Award holds a lower DJmark award for at least two years without interruption, which shows their commitment to the scheme and proves that their business is a long-term one. DJ Diamond Dust started in 1975, and has continually run a mobile disco in Cardiff, Swansea, Carmarthen, Neath and throughout South and Mid Wales.

I have recently joined the National Association of Disc Jockeys (NADJ) was formed in January 2004, previously servicing  for over 25 years, as  the Thames Valley Disc Jockeys’ Association. The name was formally changed and the TVDJA became an integral part of the new NADJ.

I have been a member of Equity since the early 1980’s. Equity is the UK trade union for professional performers. As a leading industry organisation, Equity is known and respected nationally and internationally for the work we do with, and on behalf of, our members working across all areas of the entertainment industry, including Cardiff and Swansea.

I am Member of St John Ambulance of Wales, now based in Neath, and originally joined around 1999. I am currently at First Aid at Work level and working to a higher qualification, EFA (Enhanced First Aider) as have been previously at NHS First Responder level which expired a while ago.

I am also a member of The Alliance of Mobile and Party DJ’s. AMPdj is probably the largest Organisation for Mobile DJs in the UK, as 3 out of every 4 mobile DJs choose AMPdj as the one to join. They provide mobile DJs in Cardiff, Swansea and the rest of the UK, with the best information & support.

DJ Mart using CDs at Purple Badger, Llanrhidian

We had a really different type of disco here. Tom and I were asked to DJ off a play list for the whole night.  We did not have the specialist music, i.e. , in their case Northern Soul, and specific music not all classic chart hits of 70’s. We were give a bag full of CD’s to play from the list of music for the night. Very little songs were played from the laptop. It was mainly CDs. We’re very lucky to have profession CD player in on our system.  Not many DJ do these days. It very had should the computer system ever fail.  The hospitality was great. The chicken curry was exceptional!

This was a really interesting gig at Bridgend Golf Club. I was asked to play a great deal of R’n’B to mix in with the current chart music and some 60’s and 70’s for the parents. I played loads of requests – there were some songs I was not familiar with.  I  discovered new and different music from what I’m used to. The guests were very appreciative of the play list. The lighting and sound levels were matched to the size of the room.

We played many songs from the 60’s and kept having requests for Tom Jones, Abba, Cilla Black and Dusty Springfield.  They liked songs that they were familiar to them in their younger years. We play a few new songs too!

The lighting was focused on to the dance floor and the walls not dazzle the guests. We kept the volume down, as in this case, as some audiences are more comfortable with this.  One has also got to consider the size of the room with relation to how loud is necessary. The more people you have the greater the absorption of sound. In this case, we had a smaller audience; therefore the music was played at a lower level.

We worked as a children’s entertainer in Llanelli recently, in Llangennech Community Centre. It is large and clean with great facilities and really friendly, helpful staff. It was a lively birthday party with a great audience. We’ve worked many times in the Llanelli area including Glenalla Community Centre, Llanelli and Lakefield Community Centre.

Mascot the Robot Dog in Newport

We’ve had a lovely time at Llwyngwair Manor Holiday, Newport in Pembrokeshire.  It is a family caravan park and campsite area with amazing, beautiful surroundings and a very welcoming staff.  It was amazing to find out that some of the holiday makers were from Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot and even Cardiff.  Ethan ran the music and Martin provide the parachute games and the magic show. Mascot the Robot Dog visited the children and everyone had a wonderful time! Over the years, as well as being a children’s entertainer in Newport, Martin and the crew of the Diamond Dust Roadshow,   have attended many venues in West and Mid Wales, including Kiln Park, Tenby and some outdoor events including Carew Airfield.
