Review of 2017 and January 2018
Review of 2017
DJ Diamond Dust, mobile discos serving Swansea, Cardiff and the South Wales region, has had a successful and eventful 2017.
DJ Kelly Jack Roberts:
2017 has been a tremendous year for me. This will be my second year with DJ Diamond Dust and it’s been amazing yet again. The amount of fun I have had and the new skills I have learned have been phenomenal! As well as meeting some amazing new people.
If there were 3 gigs that I had to pick be my favourite from 2017, they would have to be Bryncoch RFC (Birthday party and Christmas party), Ynystawe Cricket Club (Children’s Christmas Party), and Tonna RFC (Birthday party)
I cannot wait for 2018 and what it brings for me and the team, I would also like to thank Martin for giving me the opportunity to do this.
DJ Martin Thompson:
We have been DJs in Cardiff in The Discovery Pub in Cardiff, a children’s entertainer in Cardiff at Llandaff North Community Centre, providing entertainment in Tenby at New Minerton Holiday Park, a Wedding DJ at Beggar’s Reach, Milford Haven, at Castlemead Hotel in Tenby, and an annual dinner at Chepstow Racecourse, and finishing off with a few Christmas parties at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea. It has been quite a mixed bag of gigs.
Our 8 Foot Robot cat or KA- Tash – Trophe has visited a few interesting venues including a day at Waterfront Museum, Swansea – Festival of Science week.
I have a really amazing, kind and hard working crew. I can say that without them a great deal of what has happened this year would not have been possible. Thank you guys.. and thank you to our new and regular customers!
DJ Ethan Gray:
It’s that time of the year again! If I had to summarise this year with a word – it would have to be fantastic! This year has eye opener and helped be massively with my confidence, and becoming a better person. Also, throughout the year, I’ve learnt many new key skills that will help me in my later life. This year has also increased my skills because, I’ve been doing a lot more gigs and this has made me a better DJ and worker. Not many people can say they are a DJ throughout their teenage and adult years! It’s a dream job.
We’ve had some outstanding gigs this year with some phenomenal venues and guests. If I had to pick 3 gigs that I have attended it would have to be Chepstow Race course, Liberty stadium and Longford Memorial Hall.
Finally, I would like to thank Martin for allowing me to enjoy this job as much as I do, and letting me be a part of this wonderful group of people! Let’s hope 2018 is just as good as 2017 I can’t wait to see what skills and incredible places we will visit bring on 2018!
DJ Tom Hyatt:
Well 2017 certainly didn’t disappoint with there being plenty of diverse gigs.
After leaving my full time duties in August last year, I was sad to no longer meet different people and play different music nearly every weekend but that did not mean that I was no longer part of the Diamond Dust Crew.
Throughout 2017 I continued to work alongside Martin at Wedding functions, birthday parties and (my favourite) works do’s, and the best part of it all was the fact I never got bored during any of the gigs last year.
If I was to pick my favourite gig of 2017, without doubt it would be the Joe’s Ice Cream work’s do at the Liberty Stadium on Black Friday and when I say Joe’s Ice Cream nearly every branch in Wales including the factory workers turned up. The reason this was my favourite gig was down to the fact that the crowd was so energetic from beginning to end and it was the only gig last year were all the Diamond Dust Crew were together to provide the best service possible.
I look forward to continue working with Diamond Dust during 2018 and look forward to seeing you in a nearby gig.
