Children’s Disco Cardiff
We have achieved the Diamond DJmark
Diamond Dust, who is a team of Party and Wedding DJs who work in Swansea and Cardiff, will have achieved the Diamond DJmark Award on Need a Disco. It is the highest level award, which means we have reached or surpassed the following criteria:
Visibly Open – There is the question of how many mobile DJs hide behind a mobile telephone number and a Hotmail address. All DJmark Gold Award holders have supplied a full verified postal address, a telephone landline, and domain name email address. So in the unlikely event of a problem, we know exactly where you can find them, particularly if someone is planning to book a wedding DJ in Swansea, Cardiff or anywhere else.
Public Liability Insurance (PLI) – Management regularly insists on a PLI before granting access to their venues including Cardiff and Swansea.
Often the venue’s insurers wish to offset risk.
Electrical Safety Tests (PAT) is annual testing which inspects and tests portable electrical appliances. It ensures they are safe to use in a public setting.
Written contracts are issued, with terms and conditions, which gives reassurance for customers.
Enhanced Positive Feedback – Award holders have received genuine positive feedback from previous customers for work which they sourced.
Health & Safety Standards – This means of a Method Statement. It describes our procedures and processes. It includes installing, operating and removing mobile disco equipment in venues.
Some people hiring a DJ for an occasion, such as a wedding, would appreciate a face-to-face meeting before the event. They would like to meet the DJ and discuss their musical preferences and priorities for the party.
Complaints Procedure shows that the company has considered how to handle any complaints which, no matter how unlikely, may arise. A procedure demonstrates that any issue will be dealt with in a structured and fair manner with third-party mediation.
Legal Music Sourcing/Dubbing (ProDub) is a licence issued in the UK by PRS for Music, which governs the copying of music from any format to a digital format.
All Diamond Award members hold a lower DJmark award for at least two years without interruption. It shows commitment to the scheme and proves that their business is a long-term one.
DJ Diamond Dust started in 1975 and has continually run a mobile disco in Cardiff, Swansea, Carmarthen, Neath and throughout South and Mid Wales.
I have been a member of Equity since the early 1980s. Equity is the UK trade union for professional performers is respected nationally and internationally.
I am Member of St John Ambulance of Wales, now based in Plasmarl, Swansea, and originally joined around 1997. I am currently at EFA (Enhanced First Aider) and have been previously at NHS First Responder level, which expired a while ago.
I am also a member of The Alliance of Mobile and Party DJs, which is probably the largest Organisation for Mobile DJs in the UK. Three out of every four mobile DJs choose as the one to join. They provide mobile DJs in Cardiff, Swansea and the rest of the UK, with the best information and support.

DJ in Llanelli – 60th Birthday
Children’s Entertainer in Llanelli
I recently worked as a children’s entertainer in Llangennech Community Centre., which has excellent facilities and friendly, helpful staff. It was a lively birthday party with a responsive audience. DJ Ethan kept them dancing.
The children loved their music and joined in with the games and activities. They were enthusiastic about the magic show and balloon modelling. They were amazed by Mascot the Robot Dog!
We’ve worked many times in the Llanelli area including Glenalla Community Centre, Llanelli and Lakefield Community Centre.
Children’s Entertainer in Neath
In Cwmgwrach village, at an 8th birthday party, it was decided that we should have a bigger light show. We used the new backdrop usually used for our wedding discos. It was useful that we tried this out as we could get used to setting it up and improving the visual side of the show.
I have worked many times as a children’s entertainer in Neath:
- Baglan Community Centre
- Bryn Community Centre
- Cwmavon Community Centre
- Cimla Community Centre
Martin Thompson Television Appearances
During the last day of term, i.e., Thursday 16th July 2015, they had an end of term disco where I was the DJ. Imagine my surprise on the gig, when a television camera crew turned up! The kids loved it!
Television is not new to me. The most publicised was on was Noel Edmond’s “Multi-coloured Swap Shop”, BBC 1, 1981. That was a live broadcast at Cardiff Castle, with presenters Maggie Philbin and Keith Chegwin.
I have appeared on “All Kinds of Everything” (HTV 1982), “Seal Bay” (BBC 2 1986), “Heno” (S4C 1998), and “The Real Merlin” (Channel 4 1999).
I have made regular television appearances on “Coleg” (S4C 1984 – 1985), “Dinas” (S4C 1989), “Pobol Y Cwm” (BBC Wales 1989 – 2005).
I have even done child well-being duties “Stake Out” (BBC 2008) – On location at Oakwood Park, Pembrokeshire.
