We all had a fantastic weekend at the Swansea Science Festival. This was a unique Robot Show for Children. Our robot rampage included Katastrophe, our 8 Foot Robot Cat and both Mascot Robot Dogs. On Saturday 26th October 2120 people attended the event at the National Waterfront Museum. That was surpassed on Sunday by 2784! There were 350 reviews. 76% 5-star reviews, 23% 4-star, only 1% 3-star.

We had the opportunity to show the robots in action. Had plenty of interest and photographs including the cosplay with the light sabres. This is the newest addition to the children’s show. These add a new dimension to the magic show.

It was hard work setting the exhibition up, but it was an opportunity to exhibit what we do. A time where we could meet up with old friends and make new ones. We had many interesting questions about the robots. There was tons of volunteers in our action-packed show. We even had a diagnostics workshop with our visitors. Extremely impressed by the attention, interest and support we had from the children and teenagers.  Thank you!

Have to say a big thank you to Paul, Corey, Ioan and Holly for making everything possible at this wonderful event. Must not forget our 8 Foot Robot Cat and her two brothers – Mascot the Robot Dogs. It was an unforgettable Robot Show for Children.

The shows ran from 10.00am until 5.00pm. Needless to say, we arrived a lot earlier to make time to prepare and check that everything was working. We added some of our disco lighting and gobo project that we usually have for your disco. It was nice touch to light up the subtle lighting in the museum.

The clocks have changed to British Winter time, meaning the nights are drawing in, daylight is getting shorter, and winter is on its way with colder times. We are getting preparations for the winter and Christmas parties.

Our Swansea DJ service is available to birthday parties, weddings, and celebrations of all types. Birthday party booking vary from children, teens, 21^st, 30^th, 50^th, 70^th and 80^th. We taylor the music for specific age and tastes. Alternately, we mix of songs if the audience had a wide age ranges.

Wedding parties usually have a wide range of ages. Families can be local and further afield which accounts for different tastes in music. The bride and groom, father and daughter songs are usually picked beforehand. As this is their special day, we work with the happy couple in preparing their list of songs to be included during the evening.

We always ensure that requests are played, together with the songs to get people up and dancing. There are times that our customers would prefer us to work off a playlist. We are flexible enough to run the music either way.  We can use a format with songs through the decades starting from the 1950’s including Rock and Roll, the 1960’s with perhaps Motown.

The 70’s with Glam rock, Punk and Disco. The 80s with Electronic and Bands of the era. The 90’s with Brit pop and artists of that time. The 00’s with popular rock and pop. The 10’s with the move away from bands to solo artists. The 20’s has a wide range, although there is a resurgence of the 80’s. Overall, pop and rock seem to be the most popular. Whatever the choice for music, we will try our best to accommodate.

Teenage parties include a larger lightshow to reflect the energy of the audience. Children’s birthday parties include games, magic, light sabres and robots!

When we are booked, we always send a booking form to ensure the client get what they need to make the evening a success.   Swansea DJ, Diamond Dust, uses equipment  of a high professional standard to ensure that we can cover the venue at a sound level is suitable for the event and the size of the audience. We have a mixture of lighting provide an atmosphere to enhance the function. We alter the lighting equipment to suit the venue and event planned. Our Children’s Entertainer South Wales is ready for more events and birthday parties.
We offer a wide variety of entertainment.  Our show caters for 5 to 12 years. We can adapt it for teenagers. We can include the following:

Martin produces a magic show or a science work shop that will entertain and hold the interest for the children from five to 12 years. Mainstream or Additional Learning Needs. 

Volunteers have a choice on which balloon model they would like.

The Children’s show can be adapted to a Science Workshop if preferred.

Every Children’s show always includes Mascot the Robot Dog. We have both dogs in the science shows.

If the adults are brave enough, the KATT is invited. The kids love the Katt! She is the main attraction in the Robot Show.

New to Children’s Entertainer South Wales!

The latest addition to the Children’s Show are the Light Sabres and Cosplay. This is proving to be extremely very popular. The children always ask us to extend this part of the show!

A firm favourite are the parachute games. Works with all ages. Even the shy ones join in. Everyone is included.

Every show includes our disco, complete with full light show and DJ. Keeps the children happy and dancing!

If we do an extended show, we can add an element of competition.

For those who would like something more challenging, we bring along our Space Hoppers.

Martin is a member of Equity.

He is a member of The International Brotherhood of Magicians (British Ring 25).

Martin regularly presents Robot Workshops and is a STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) Ambassador.

During this month, the children are returning to school. This will be a little bit quieter in Swansea, Cardiff, and the rest of South Wales. This will give us the opportunity to complete our maintenance checks and repairs. We can also plan new routines into the children’s show.

Before we know it, Halloween parties and Christmas shows will be here. Soon after that,  New Year’s Eve and the beginning of the New Year. Spring will arrive. Then, Valentine Discos and Easter Parties.

During the months leading up to the summer showed that I am a Creative Children’s Entertainer. We’ve been busy planning new ideas for the children’s show.

I’ve designed and created new tricks and illusions.

We’ve updated and kept the repairs on the robots.

Introduced new parts for larger shows and new games including Space Hoppers!

The magic show has undergone a dramatic change. We have  a new roll on table, costumes and a wide range of magic props.

It will make life more interesting for me, the crew and most definitely the children and teenagers. Looking forward to an amazing summer! DJ Diamond Dust’s crew always have an exciting time when they take the robot cat and dogs for a day out.

They go out for the day at a local school for a Summer Playscheme. In the autumn, they usually go out for a weekend of adventure at the National Waterfront Museum for the Swansea Science Festival. This is the UK’s largest Science Festival, run by Swansea University.

They turn up on robot days in schools, hospital visits, birthday parties, or even to get together with their fellow alien life forms!

Some events are just for fun. Other times, we promote science.

This year is turning out well. We are steadily getting excellent reviews and recommendations as Swansea DJs.

The new van is brilliant. Keeps us warm and safe on the road and carries the show throughout Swansea, Cardiff, and South Wales.

The new crew have settled in and are looking forward to whatever the Spring and Summer brings.

We continue to improve the light show with extra effects and backdrops for when we have more prominent stages to fill.

A year to the day was the last time that our DJs, 8-Foot-Robot-Cat and both Robot Dogs were out and about entertaining, educating, and inspiring children and young people in South Wales.

We all hope that the situation will improve soon, as schools are continuing to open, with the promise that venues and theatres will open their doors at some point in the future.

Roxy has been inspecting our progress and decided to take a few nibbles at the cake.
