2017 has been amazing. It will be my second year with DJ Diamond Dust, and it’s been amazing yet again. It’s been phenomenal the amount of fun I have had, the new skills I have learned, and meeting some fantastic new people.
The three gigs that I had to pick to be my favourite from 2017 are:
- Bryncoch RFC (Birthday party and Christmas party)
- Ynystawe Cricket Club (Children’s Christmas Party)
- Tonna RFC (Birthday party)
I cannot wait for 2018 brings for the team and me. I would also like to thank Martin for allowing me to do this.

It has been quite a mixed bag of gigs. Our DJ Party team attended The Discovery Pub in Cardiff and Castlemead Hotel in Tenby. Tom and I have done a wedding disco at Beggar’s Reach, Milford Haven.
We’ve done children’s parties in Llandaff North Community Centre, Cardiff and New Minerton Holiday Park, Tenby.
We’ve worked at annual dinner in Chepstow Racecourse and a few Christmas parties at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea.
Our 8-Foot-Robot-Cat has visited a few exciting venues including a day at Waterfront Museum, Swansea – Festival of Science week.
I have an amazing, kind and hardworking team. I can say that without my crew, a great deal of what has happened this year would not have been possible. Thank you guys, and thanks to you to our new and regular customers!

It’s that time of the year again! If I had to summarise this year with a word – it would have to be fantastic! This year has an eye opener and helped me massively with my confidence and becoming a better person.
Also, throughout the year, I’ve learnt many new vital skills that will help me in my later life. This year has also increased my skills because I’ve been doing a lot more gigs. This has made me a better DJ and worker.
Not many people can say they are a DJ throughout their teenage and adult years! It’s a dream job.
We’ve had some outstanding gigs this year with some unique venues and guests. If I had to pick three parties that I have attended, it would have to be Chepstow Racecourse. Then the Liberty Stadium and Longford Memorial Hall.
Finally, I would like to thank Martin for allowing me to enjoy this job as much as I do. For also letting me be a part of this great group of people! Let’s hope 2018 is just as good as in 2017. I can’t wait to see what skills and incredible places we will visit bring in 2018!
Tom Hyatt:
Well, 2017 certainly didn’t disappoint with there being plenty of several gigs.
I left my full-time duties in August last year. I was sad to meet different people no longer and play different music nearly every weekend. But that did not mean that I was no longer part of the Diamond Dust Crew.
Throughout 2017 I continued to work alongside Martin at Wedding functions, birthday parties and (my favourite) work party. The best part of it all was the fact I never got bored during any of the gigs last year.
If I were to pick my favourite gig of 2017, without doubt, it would be Joe’s Ice Cream works do. It was at the Liberty Stadium on Black Friday. Nearly every branch in Wales, including the factory workers, turned up.
The reason this was my favourite gig was down to the fact that the crowd was so energetic from beginning to end. It was the only gig last year when all the Diamond Dust Crew were together to provide the best service possible.
I look forward to continuing working with Diamond Dust during 2018. We look forward to seeing you in a nearby gig.

We have had some bookings in January. One children’s birthday party in Maesycwmmer Community Centre. There were two surprise birthday parties.
One in Pontyates RFC and another in Aberavon Green Stars RFC. Finally, we did a 60th birthday in New Dock Stars RFC in Llanelli.
