It’s getting busier as we get nearer the warmer months. We’ve travelled quite a bit at the moment. We’ve been in the Cardiff area again this month. We’ve been to a house party in Fochrew, Bargoed.

We lit the living room up with lights, not too many, created a lovely party atmosphere. The four-year-old birthday party included the disco, Mascot the Robot Dog, magic, balloon modelling and games. Great fun!

The Diamond Dust Children’s show is adaptable enough for a small house party to a large function hall, and even an outdoor event. We’ve got an outdoor one soon.

We had a rather busy time in the Cardiff area this month. We had a 40th birthday party in The Waterfront, Porthcawl. DJ Diamond Dust was a success with a 13th birthday party with a teenage UV party in Llynfi Coach House, Caerau, Maesteg. We run the music to suit the age range and tastes of the audience. The important thing is to remember to play the requests, letting the music keep the audience tapping their fingers and toes, and getting the party up and dancing. DJ Diamond Dust has an excellent variety and range of lighting to suit the mood, from par cans, upgrade of the mirror ball, to UV lighting. We aim to please.

The summer is getting nearer, and we have already started our Holiday Park shows. We regularly entertain children at New Minerton Leisure Park in Tenby throughout the summer months. We did one show last year at Brownhills Holiday Park, Synod Inn, Llandysul. This year we are doing more during the summer.

Mascot, the Robot Dog, is proving to be very popular. The show also includes games, activities, magic, balloon models and our state-of-the-art disco. We look forward to more gigs in other holiday parks in the South and mid-Wales regions this summer! We keep the music current and add a couple of classic tracks. We add summer tunes to our playlists. We don’t forget the requests.

We’ve just done a Children’s Party at Murchfield Community Centre, Dinas Powys – really great party.

Martin Thompson as a children’s entertainer in Cardiff works well in many settings, including clubs, community centres, factory Christmas parties for children and schools.

The emphasis is on getting the children, and some of the adults to join in.  There are parts where they can sit down together to watch the less energetic parts of the show.

This month we have completed the test runs for our 8-Foot-Robot-Cat. We’ll keep you posted. It all happened at Birchgrove Community Centre, Swansea. It was the first time that we had enough floor space to test out our newest robot.

We realised how fast she could move. It was at this point we realised that the radio control was handy, but we could in the future be quite a distance from our machine. It was vital that we did more tests. We had to work on how to slow down the robot and what safety devices we could add to make it safer.

The test run helped a great deal in our plans for the future. We could see the potential of the KATT for the future.
